Welcome to the "Shoe Goddess Salon"

Here are a few tips on buying evening shoes:

1. Make sure you can walk gracefully in them, take them home and try them on with the dress or outfit, walk around (inside only, carpet and non-abrasive surfaces) and stand in them for at least an hour or more to get a feel for how comfortable they will be.

2. Ask the sales person for stick-on pads that will prevent your feet from slipping too far into the front of the shoe.

3. Think multi-purpose - can I wear these with jeans and a great top, will they go with other things so I'm making a smart shoe investment? This is not always important, sometimes you just need that special pair of shoes for that special occasion, yet, it's a great way to justify impulse shoe buys!

4. If they don't have your size - have the sales person call other locations to track it down for you - and have them put the shoes on hold under your name. This way, all you have to do is go there and ask for them. You can have them sent to your home as well if you do this type of thing - I like to try shoes on first, before buying them - but it's up to you!

5. Once you have the pair you will be wearing, gently scrape the bottoms on cement or another rough surface to help wear them in a bit, and prevent possible slipping.
